Ostfest Hungary started buying and renovating the houses of the original village of Bedepuszta in 2011. Most of the old loam houses are renovated in traditional style with traditional elements, but with modern kitchens and bathrooms. Houses at the south side of the village are turned into buildings with recreational purposes like the sauna/wellness, the club house, the school building, the summer kitchen and the Yonderbar. Additionally a swimming pool, a pavilion, a camping and other recreational facilities were built. Village Retreat is a unique holiday destination on a beautiful location. seemingly in the middle of nowhere but only one hour drive from Budapest.

This cute little cottage is very traditional. Thick loam walls, wooden floors and doorposts, antique furniture and many paintings and folk related items on the wall. The kitchen en bathroom are simple but efficient. The private yard in front of the house is partly roofed and has a picknick table. In the garden behind the house there are fruit trees and herbs to be found. The bar, swimming pool and other facilities are less than 100 meter from the house.

Although the village is located at the end of a dead end road, there are 10 restaurants within a 20 km radius. Most of them can be reached by beautiful trips through the hills by foot or mountainbike. The world heritage village of Hollókö is only 8 km from Bedepuszta and a very nice location to visit, as is the Buddha Park in Tar. Village Retreat is also a good stepping stone to discover the Hungarian highlands with many nice destinations and very few tourists still. Also the beautiful capital Budapest can be reached within one hour. This also goes for the Danube towns and southern Slovakia.
