Welcome to Coombe Cottage, an original 300 year old cottage which sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 looks out over the garden and has a king-size bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and a newly refurbished en-suite shower room with spacious rainfall shower, WC and marble sink cabinet. Bedroom 2 looks out over the garden and enjoys spectacular sunrises, has a king-size bed, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 3 looks out over fields and trees at the back of the cottage, where often deer roam free, and has a double bed and a built-in wardrobe. On the landing there is a shower-room with WC and sink. A hand crafted wooden staircase takes you down to the ground floor where the open plan kitchen-diner area is modern and airy with a dining table and chairs (6), and a quartz peninsular for food preparation which also seats 2 in breakfast bar style. The kitchen area has an electric induction hob, two built in electric fan ovens (one oven doubles as a microwave), integrated fridge-freezer, integrated dishwasher and plenty of storage space. The kitchen opens out onto a patio area with table and chairs - perfect for enjoying alfresco meals and drinks! The kitchen diner leads directly into a stunning, recently constructed garden room, with solid oak beams, a large, glass gable end to the southerly aspect and full length bi-fold doors opening onto the garden. This provides a light and airy space with 4 seater sofa, two easy chairs, foot stool and a coffee table - an ideal setting for enjoying the outdoors from the comfort of within. The garden room conjures up a unique sense of being 'in nature' and offers outstanding views beyond the garden and across the valley. At the bottom of the stairs is a study area leading into the snug with TV, sofa and wood burner for use in the winter months. Beyond the snug is a utility room, with a vacuum cleaner, washing machine, utility sink, ironing board, iron and clothes airing rack for guests' use.

Hi, I'm Liz and I live with my husband, Chris, in a peaceful hamlet close to the Devon/Dorset border. I am happiest when enjoying nature and the great outdoors - hiking, camping, cycling. We shall be available locally, so if you need anything please contact us via the booking App or mobile phone. Check-in time is from 4pm onwards and check-out time is before 10am. As Coombe Cottage is our permanent home for most of the year, there are a couple of things to bear in mind when considering a booking. Our 2 cats remain at the property during holiday let periods, so if you are allergic to/not a fan of cats, Coombe Cottage may not suit your needs. You may find one cat comes into the garden room to sleep during the day, the other cat lives outside most of the time. The cats do not go upstairs or onto furniture and are outside at night. They have access to their food and beds via a cat flap which is separate to the rental space, so please do not feed them. A small amount of personal belongings may remain in the property (e.g. clearly indicated in separate wardrobe space). However, there is plenty of storage space available for guests and we would love you to feel at home here. Coombe Cottage is ideal for families or couples. Strictly no parties. Please note that we have a small fishpond, so please keep an eye on young children around the water. A daily sprinkle of fish food would be very much appreciated, thank you! Guests will have exclusive use of Coombe Cottage, its gardens and patio area. The entrance gate is shared with guests occupying holiday accommodation situated behind the cottage and over the garage (Little Coombe Loft, sleeps 2), but this will not impinge on your private area and you will not be overlooked, as the cottage faces the other way and looks out over the garden. Allocated parking is in front of the double garage, one car space for Coombe Cottage and one car space for Little Coombe Loft. Extra parking is available for a second vehicle.

Located along a quiet country lane with views across the rolling countryside, Coombe Cottage is perfectly situated for friends and families to relax in peace and tranquillity, explore the patchwork of footpaths and bridleways spanning the East Devon/West Dorset border or discover the delights of local villages and beaches. The South West Coast Path offers magnificent views of the Jurassic Coast, taking in famous local landmarks such as Chesil Beach, West Bay and Golden Cap. A range of stunning beaches such as Eype, Seatown, Lyme Bay, Beer and Branscombe are just a short drive away. A two mile walk through lanes, fields and woodland brings you to Lyme Regis, the heart of the World Heritage site known as the Jurassic Coast. Lyme Regis is renowned for its natural beauty, fossils, literary connections and extraordinarily rich heritage. Enjoy both sandy and pebble beaches, stunning coastal views, a stroll around the iconic Cobb harbour or explore the maze of winding streets bursting with delicious eateries and unique shops. Coombe Cottage is situated in a rural hamlet and not on a direct bus route, so a car is needed for purchasing provisions etc. There is a bus route about a mile away and a station (Axminster) about 3 miles away. There are a number of taxi firms locally. If you enjoy walking there is a wide choice of local public footpaths.
